YOULEAD Partners Meet Online to Prepare for Project Launch

First coordination meeting brings together partners, experts and youth representatives

The journey of the YOULEAD project officially began with an online preparatory meeting held on 27 November 2025. Organised by Panathlon International, the session brought together project partners, stakeholders, experts and youth representatives who will contribute to the implementation of the initiative over the coming months.

The meeting served as an important opportunity for participants to become familiar with the project structure, establish common expectations and discuss the first steps towards achieving the project’s objectives.

Setting the foundations for collaboration

During the meeting, partners were introduced to the overall project framework, including its objectives, expected outcomes and implementation timeline. Particular attention was given to the different work packages and the roles that each organisation will play throughout the project.

The consortium also discussed coordination procedures, communication channels and practical tools that will support cooperation among partners from different European countries.

These early discussions helped establish a shared understanding of the project’s priorities and ensured that all partners are aligned as implementation activities begin.

Preparing the next stages of the project

Beyond organisational matters, participants exchanged ideas on upcoming research activities, dissemination plans and the development of future project outputs. The meeting also provided an opportunity to present the first elements of the YOULEAD visual identity, which will support the project’s communication activities and visibility across Europe.

The discussion highlighted a common commitment among partners to strengthen youth participation in sport governance, promote gender-balanced leadership and support more inclusive decision-making structures within sports organisations.

Looking ahead to Rome

As the first official gathering of the consortium, the online preparatory meeting marked an important milestone in building the foundations for successful project implementation.

The next major step for the partnership will be the YOULEAD Kick-Off Meeting, scheduled to take place in Rome in January 2026, where partners will continue planning activities and further develop the project’s roadmap for the months ahead.

With strong engagement from partners, experts and young representatives, YOULEAD is now ready to begin its work towards creating more inclusive pathways for the next generation of leaders in sport.
