YOULEAD Reaches Financial Milestone with First EU Pre-financing

Project implementation moves forward following initial Erasmus+ funding

The YOULEAD project achieved an important milestone on 28 November 2025 with the receipt of its first pre-financing payment from the European Union. This initial payment, representing 30% of the total project grant, officially marked the beginning of the project’s financial implementation phase.

As coordinator of the project, Panathlon International proceeded with the distribution of the corresponding budget shares to project partners, in accordance with the approved budget and the provisions defined in the Grant Agreement.

Supporting the first phase of project activities

The arrival of the first funding instalment provides the consortium with the resources needed to launch the initial stages of project implementation and ensure the smooth coordination of activities across all partner organisations.

Over the coming months, partners will focus on project management and coordination, research activities, communication and dissemination efforts, stakeholder engagement, and the preparation of the first project outputs. The funding also supports the organisation of consortium meetings and the development of tools and resources that will be delivered throughout the project.

Building momentum for the next stages

While largely administrative in nature, this milestone represents an important step in turning project plans into concrete actions. With the financial framework now in place, project partners can move forward with confidence and begin implementing activities designed to strengthen youth participation and gender-balanced leadership within sport governance.

The first pre-financing payment follows the project’s preparatory phase and comes shortly before the official kick-off meeting, where partners will further coordinate their work and agree on the detailed roadmap for the implementation period.
